Elm City Internationals (ECI) works to ensure that all of its students are prepared (academically and athletically) for college. Many students, however, still face financial challenges that can make the reality of attending college difficult for them. Therefore, ECI helps students seek out private scholarships for college. Unfortunately, students’ financial needs are not always fully met through private financial aid and scholarships. In order to make sure that 100% of ECI students are able to attend college, ECI initiated its scholarship fund: The "Mohamed Kourouma 'Minimo' Scholarship Fund" (MKMSF). This scholarship fund is named after Mohamed Kourouma who is an ECI alum who graduated from Dickinson College in 2021 and suffered cardiac arrest while playing soccer in 2023. After graduating from college Mohamed was the head soccer coach and head mentor for younger generations of ECI student-athletes. Mohamed would want his legacy to continue through future generations of ECI students.

MKMSF is designed to provide students with as much “gap funding” as possible so that they can all afford to attend college. To date, 100% of ECI alums have graduated college within 4.5 years of graduating high school.
